Chris Maverick

Chris Maverick is a master of Western Art. Western Historical Art has two great masters: Frederick Remington and Charles M. Russell. The two masters are the foundation of 135 years of Western American Art. The two became renowned internationally for their artwork. Maverick drew his inspiration from the two masters and is following in their footsteps.


Maverick graduated from Pratt University and started his career as an illustrator for newspapers and magazines. Pratt university was established in 1887 and focused on Engineering, Architecture and Fine Art’s. Maverick always remembered the school founders motto for the university: ‘be true to your work and your work will be true to you.’


Having felt that he was not being true to his work as an illustrator, Maverick left his job to do what he always intended, to become a famous artist. To start his career, Maverick would paint in Central Park and sell his art there. Maverick has been following his dream ever since. His art is can be found in the homes of celebrities, statesmen and fine galleries around the world.
